Our position
We only recommend AI if the numbers work. If the manual alternative is cheaper, we'll tell you.
What we actually build
These are the four AI use cases that most reliably pay for themselves for small businesses. We scope each implementation individually: no templates, no off-the-shelf chatbot builders.
Customer Support Chatbots
Not the generic FAQ bots. We build chatbots trained on your actual service data, including prices, processes, availability, and policies, so they can resolve enquiries without a staff member handling it. When something can't be resolved, it hands off to your team with full context.
Used on: website, WhatsApp, Messenger, email
Document Generation
Quotes, proposals, contracts, reports, and job summaries: any document your team creates repeatedly from existing information can be generated automatically. A completed job in your system creates a formatted invoice PDF without anyone touching Word or Excel.
Works with: Xero, ServiceM8, Airtable, Google Docs
Reading and Sorting Emails
Email inboxes are where information goes to get lost. AI reads incoming emails, pulls out the key details (client name, what they need, how urgent it is), saves them in an organised record, and sends it to the right person or system automatically.
Works with: Gmail, Outlook, and most other email inboxes
Smart Sorting
Incoming enquiries, support tickets, orders, or applications are automatically sorted by type, urgency, or category, then sent to the right place. Replaces manual sorting and speeds up response times significantly.
Used in: support desks, lead qualification, order management
Our honest position on AI
AI is overmarketed and underdelivered. The gap between what vendors promise and what actually helps a small business is significant.
We evaluate every AI opportunity against a simple question: does the time and cost saving justify the implementation cost? If the answer is no, we'll tell you and suggest what would actually help.
We also don't build AI implementations that require ongoing supervision to function. If a business owner has to regularly check whether the AI got it right, that's not a good implementation. It's just created a new type of manual work.
What we build should run reliably, save measurable hours, and require minimal ongoing management from you.
Questions about AI
It depends on what we're building. A customer support chatbot needs enough information about your services to answer questions accurately, and this can often be drawn from your existing website and documentation. Document generation requires examples of existing documents. We scope what's needed clearly before starting.
Yes, if it's set up poorly. We build it so that when the AI isn't sure of an answer, it hands off to a person instead of guessing. We also test it thoroughly with tricky, unusual situations before it goes live. We don't launch AI chatbots that can make up facts about your business and tell them to customers.
Primarily OpenAI and Anthropic models, depending on the use case. We don't have vendor relationships that influence our recommendations, so we choose whichever model is best suited to the task in terms of accuracy, cost, and reliability.
